WE ARE TEAM KAYLEY ⚡️ In 22 days, we will take the field to start the 2017 season, to make a run at championship #11, but most importantly, we will raise funds to Uncover A Cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Last year during the First Annual Team Kayley night, we raised over $5,000. The Sioux Falls Storm in conjunction with Cure SMA will be hosting a silent auction at their home opener on February 17th. We are excited to announce our first item from Emily Rommann, a Keep Collective distributor, is donating two (2) bracelets. One being a Team Kayley bracelet and the other is an Inspire. In SMA Type 2, the course of the disease is stable or slowly progressing, but death before the age of 20 is frequent. What a scary statement. A disease that will slowly deteriorate all of my muscles, meaning that I have never walked and am wheelchair bound. My life expectancy was 2 years old; I am now 24, a college graduate, and I am the Director of Social Media Marketing for the Sioux Falls Storm! I have scoliosis (curvature of my spine) that required me to have a surgery at 7 years old. During surgery metal rods were placed down my spine to straighten and prevent further deterioration. At the Sioux Falls Storm season home opener on Friday, Feb. 17th, the Sioux Falls Storm will be hosting a special fundraiser for Cure SMA on behalf of Kayley Shade, our very own Storm employee. Kayley was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a disease that affects the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord.
